Last week NYC duo Designer Drugs dropped their debut LP Hardcore/Softcore on Ultra Records. We’d been warned about DD’s intentions to intensify their music’s ominous, industrial elements as a means to create an overall darker tone, as heard on the thudding “Through The Prism” we mentioned a while back. Scroll the track lists and you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find “Drop Down” has been included as part of the LP, so to honor these two pillars of domestic electronica, AKA Michael Vincent Patrick and Theodore Paul Nelson, we offer a pair of remixed tracks from Hardcore/Softcore. Firstly , the Beataucue Remix of “Drop Down” that has been around for a while, and has become one of the more popular derivatives, in addition to the Drop The Lime remix of “Through The Prism” that can be had on the “Through The Prism” EP featuring additional remixes by Dada Life, Tom Deluxx and PLS DNT STP.
